Annual Owners Meeting

On Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. in the North Tower Clubroom, the Annual Meeting of the Association will be held for the purpose of discussing Association matters, voting on statutory reserves, Election of Directors and such other business as may lawfully be conducted.

Fifty-one percent of all Association Members must be present, in person or by proxy, at the meeting in order for the business to be conducted.    It is VERY IMPORTANT that either you attend the meeting or mail in or hand in the proxy that was mailed to you earlier this month by Elliott Merrill.

There are 4 openings for Directors and 6 nominees so there will be an Election of Directors.   Please note that your Proxy Holder CANNOT vote your election ballot.  You must complete the election ballot and return it in the envelope provided.    If you plan to attend the Annual Meeting you may cast your ballot at the meeting.

Tiara Rules and Regulations

As we move into the 2014 season it's a good time to review the Rules and Regulations that all owners and their guests and renters agree to here at Tiara.       A brief list of the Rules can be found in the front of the Tiara Owners' Directory for 2013, the "yellow" book, and are available on the Tiara website under the Support menu.

Rest in peace

Our neighbor Frances Gossel passed away peacefully on November 13, 2013.    Her son expressed thanks to the residents of Tiara who gave assistance to and showed patience with his mother, allowing her to remain here in the home that she loved for so long.

Frances was 94.

 

North Beach Association – Member Meeting November 11, 2013

 

A Members' meeting of the North Beach Association (NBA) was held Monday, November 11th.

The topics discussed were those that we reported in the last Tiara Newsletter (October 13, 2013) after the NBA Director's meeting.    You can find the October report of the NBA meeting at the Tiara website.

The only update brought up at the meeting was that the St Lucie County Board of Commissioners, at their November 7th meeting, voted 4 - 1 to withdraw from the HUD-sponsored Regional Plan known as Seven50.     Seven50 was to be a plan adopted by the Seven counties of Indian River, St Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach, Brower, Miami-Dade, and Monroe to create a 7 county regional board to advise on investment recommendations covering housing, transportation, energy, water, land use and climate change over the next 50 years, 2010 - 2060.    To date Indian River County, the City of Vero Beach, and St Lucie County have withdrawn from this plan.    The City of Port St Lucie is considering withdrawing, and Martin County has not yet made its decision.   The City of Fort Pierce never became a partner to the plan.

The North Beach Association publishes a Newsletter for its members and occasionally includes some interesting items.    The one I found most interesting, as a Tiara Owner, was their report of the properties along A1A that are either being developed or sold.
