Hurricane Shutter Service Review

Last year, the Tiara website initiated a Reviews and Recommendations section where members of the Tiara community can share their opinions about various kinds of services they have used.

This week Jeeti Puri, 1101 S, offers us a very timely review of an alternate shutter service company, in light of the fact that Tiara is presently conducting a shutter inspection of all Tiara units.

Check it out.

Details of SR A1A Bridge Closure

A second Open House will be held for all citizens interested in, or concerned about, the rehabilitation work that will be performed on the North Causeway bridge this summer.     The rehabilitation work is being done to extend the life of the bridge for a few more years until a replacement bridge can be built, currently scheduled for 2018-2019.

SR A1A North Bridge Rehab
Project Open House
Wednesday, May 20, 2015
4:30 PM— 6:30 PM
Old Fort Pierce City Hall
315 Avenue A,
Fort Pierce, Florida 34950

The Project has been on hold for a few weeks but it is now scheduled to begin June 2, 2015.    The North Bridge will undergo an around-the-clock closure throughout the duration of the project. Two-way traffic will be maintained by temporary signalization at each end of the bridge. When westbound traffic has the green light, eastbound traffic will have a red light, and vice versa.  In other words traffic will move over the bridge one way at a time.

For approximately two weeks, the bridge will undergo full nighttime closures to motorists between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., at which it will be opened to motorists for one hour at 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. These full closures will not occur on major holidays, weekends prior to major holidays, and weekends following major holidays, and emergency vehicles will be allowed over the bridge during the closure. Two weeks prior to a full bridge closure, message boards will be in place to notify motorists. Motorists should detour north on State Road A1A or U.S. 1 to 17th Street Bridge in Vero Beach.

The bridge draw span will continue to open on demand for marine traffic except for when the bridge undergoes full nighttime closures to motorists. During this time it will be closed to marine traffic for one hour at 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Please Welcome John Grady

Tiara residents turned out on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, to congratulate Doug on his promotion and welcome his replacement, John.

After a terrific year at Tiara, Doug has been promoted to Project Manager at Harbor Isle on Hutchinson Island, just across the inlet.  Harbor Isle has more than 600 units and he will supervise six maintenance, two office and two cleaning staff.  Our thanks and our best wishes to Doug!

John Grady, who is replacing Doug, is coming from the Bay Tree complex in Vero where he was for 15 years.  He started there in maintenance and moved to management.  He likes to handle most of the problems on-site, rather than calling in lots of contractors.

John is originally from New Jersey and he’s lived in the Vero Beach area since 1978.  He’s been married to Wanda for 30 years and they have two grown children and one grandson who live nearby.  For fun, John likes to ride his motorcycle.

When you see John around Tiara please take a minute to introduce yourself and welcome him to Tiara!

The residents also wanted to express their appreciation to Steve, who does a great job keeping Tiara in tip-top shape.   Steve was unable to attend the meeting because he and his wife were in court to adopt an 18 month old boy, Christopher, who has  been Steve and Wanda's foster child since he was born.  Congratulations, Steve and family!

Lease Application

As the 2015 prime rental season draws to a close it's a good time to review the Lease application, the leasing procedure and the rules that have been approved for renting a unit at Tiara Towers.   Please take a few minutes to read through this article and download a current copy of the Lease application, which may be found on the Tiara Towers website at Home/Documents.

Highlights of the Rules related to rentals:

  • Units are intended for single family residential use.
  • No unit may be leased for less than sixty (60) consecutive days.
  • No unit may be occupied by more than 2 persons per bedroom.
  • The Board must approve all rentals or leases of any unit.
  • All tenants must register with the Tiara Maintenance office in the South tower.
  • Tenants are not permitted to have pets.
  • Owners must furnish each renter/lessee with a copy of the most recent Tiara Rules and Regulations book and owners are responsible if a renter does not abide by the Rules.

Leasing Procedure

  1.  The unit owner downloads a copy of the Lease application, or requests one from Elliott Merrill.
  2. A completed and signed Lease application must be submitted to Tiara's Management Company for approval at least thirty (30) days prior to the proposed occupancy.
  3. A list of the persons that will be occupying the unit and a list of the vehicles that will be parked on condominium property must be completed.    Boats, campers, RVs, trailers, motorcycles, mopeds or commercial vehicles are NOT permitted.
  4. Once the Lease application is approved, the renter/lessee must register with the Maintenance Supervisor,  and obtain parking permits for any vehicles to be brought onto Tiara property.
  5. The unit owner must furnish the renter with a copy of the current Rules and Regulations, and recommend that the renter review all of the rules here at Tiara.
